Early 2024 NFL Championship Bet Possibilities
The NFL Championship game just ended, and the Kansas City Chiefs are your new champions. However, despite the season just ending, the football betting season never ends. 2024 NFL Championship Team Favorites
As you can see, despite losing the NFL Championship game this year, the Philadelphia Eagles are the favorites. It makes sense. A team built around a young base and a quarterback on a rookie contract makes the Eagles likely to sustain their success through next season. The three teams on top, the Eagles, Chiefs and Bills are the favorites until someone pushes them off their pedestal. So once you get past the favorites, where does the value lie? There are a few teams that jump out to me.
Jacksonville Jaguars (+2500)
The Jaguars are going to be the offseason darlings of the NFL this season, and for good reason. The team had such a jump after dispatching Urban Meyer and bringing in Doug Pederson. They made it to the divisional round of the playoffs, and their young core is rounding into form. Trevor Lawrence was a Pro Bowler and showed some of the potential that got him the “generational talent” label when he was in college. If he takes another step forward, he could end up in the MVP conversation. If that happens? Look out for the Jaguars.
Denver Broncos (+5000)
What helped turn the Jaguars around? A quick hook on a head coach who was actively hurting the team. Could that be the case with Nathaniel Hackett and the Broncos? How much is the jump from Hackett to Sean Payton worth? If we say Hackett is two games worse than the average coach, and Payton is two games better, then that’s potentially four games right there. Granted, that’s a huge jump…but if you’re looking for a path for a longshot, there’s the potential. The Broncos were trendy going into 2022…can Payton unlock what we expected to see in 2022? If so, +5000 could be a nice ticket.
Carolina Panthers (+6000)
This team looked like a completely different team after Matt Rhule was fired midseason. They now have Frank Reich in charge, who took the Colts to two division titles and had a winning record as a head coach despite the way his tenure ended in Indianapolis. A “QB whisperer” could be just what the Panthers need. If they end up getting a quarterback, whether it’s in the draft or free agency, there’s no reason why the Panthers couldn’t be 2023’s Jaguars in a lackluster NFC South. Win the division and that +6000 can look really good in your pocket.
